Severstal is worried by the increase of aluminum in the production of cars.

As Bloomberg reported, A.Mordashov, the head of the Russian company "Severstal", stated that the growing use of aluminum in cars is a problem for the steelmakers, as the industry is faced with the excess capacity. The use of the substitutes for steel in the automotive industry is "for decades", A.Mordashov stated in an interview with Bloomberg on St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The steelmakers had previously responded to the challenges associated with the steel substitute materials and have to do it again. The car producers have started to use more aluminum, because it reduces the weight of vehicles and helps in reducing the carbon emissions and in compliance with the environmental standards
