Lukoil and Snf Floerger have started the construction of a polymer plant

The construction of the future plant on polymers output on the basis of acrylonitrile “Snf Vostok” Ltd (in the structure of the SPSM S.A. holding that unites SNF GC) started in Saratov yesterday.

The first Vice-President of Lukoil, V. Nekrasov, Vice-President for oil processing, oil chemicals, gas processing of Lukoil, V. Vorobiev, Governor of the Saratov region, V. Radaev, plenipotentiary CEO, head of SPSM S.A., R. Pick, advisor for transport, industry and stable development of the Embassy of France in Russia, S. Anrion, took part in the ceremony.

Being the only acrylonitrile in Russia, Saratovorgsintez Ltd (a 100% affiliate of Lukoil) will provide the future plant “Snf Vostok” with raw materials for polymers production. The products will also be used by Lukoil to increase the level of oil recovery of layers of operated wells.

The construction of the plant on polymers production near the oil chemicals plant of Lukoil will reduce the expenditure on raw materials and finished products shipment, will contribute to import substitution of significant volumes of chemicals reagents, the company reports.
