Rosneft asks to postpone the duty increase for grease oil export
Rosneft has addressed the Government asking to postpone the increase of the export duty for dark oil products to 100% of the export duty for oil from 2017 to a later date.
Rosneft wants the introduction of the new customs tariff to be postponed by more than a year as it hasn’t managed to modernize all its oil refineries and large volumes of grease oil are still produced there. The cabinet of Ministers has ordered the Ministry of Energy to settle this issue.
According to analysts of Deutsche Bank, Rosneft is currently one o the Russian leaders in grease oil production. In 2015 it reduced grease oil output by 5.5% but in the total volume of its processing grease oil occupies almost a third (26.6 mln tons) and along with diesel fuel is considered the main product of Rosneft. In 2015 Russia produced 72 mln tons of grease oil.
