Ambassador of Russia: Slovenia hopes for the recovery of South Stream

​Slovenia hopes for the recovery of South Stream, the Ambassador of Russia in Ljubljana, D. Zavgaev, said.

According to the Ambassador of Russia, Slovenia is still interested in the joint realization of South Stream which could help in the development of the national economy. It was confirmed by P. Sheligo, saying that the Russian gas for Slovenia stays an important factor in the energy cooperation of 2 countries though Ljubljana didn’t participate in the negotiations upon the alternative Turkish Stream.

South Stream was a project of investment opportunities for Slovenia as gas in the country’s energy package occupies only 9%. The Ambassador said that Slovenia receives gas from 6 sources, the main ones of which is in 2014 were Austria, Russia and Italy.
