Rosneft’s head wants to divide Gazprom and abolish state regulation of gas prices

The failures have continued to haunt the largest and most expensive Russian company - Gazprom. Following the fall in the price of gas on world markets and claims from European antitrust authorities the concern is threatened to be split into two directions - extracting and transporting gas. The idea utself is not new, but this time it will be reviewed by the FEC Commission under the President of the Russian Federation in October, that is, for the first time this question was raised seriously.

It is symptomatic that the issue of the separation of the monopoly was put not by anyone, but by one of the closest associates of Vladimir Putin Igor Sechin, a former Deputy Prime Minister and now president of the state oil giant - Rosneft and, according to some reports, the highest paid manager in Russia.

Igor Sechin is the chairman of the Fuel and Energy Complex Commission and a covert opponent of the current curators of the industry - Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and Energy Minister Alexander Novak. In recent years, Novak began to noticeably gain in weight in the Government, obtained credibility due to his thoughtful and informed decisions. In fact, the grid complex of the country, which Igor Sechin, according to unofficial information, unsuccessfully tried to "take under wing", moved under the control of his Ministry.
