Rosneft and Statoil to develop the North-Komsomolsk deposit

​Rosneft and Statoil have completed the drilling works in the framework of pilot works at the PK1 layer at the North-Komsomolsk deposit (Yamal Nenets Autonomous Area). In

 The companies together drilled 2 horizontal operational wells.

Rosneft and Statoil held drilling works with the expanded complex of research works that comprises the selection of core samples out of formation fluids. Moreover, for the first time the “open bore-gravel packing” technology was applied at the horizontal site with the length of 1 km at the onland deposit in Russia.

Now Rosneft and Statoil plan to test the wells and finally to determine further perspectives and methods of development of PK1 layer.
