Bashneft’s shares are remained under arrest on case of embezzlement and laundering of monetary assets

The Moscow City Court has found legal the arrest of Bashneft’s shares imposed by the court as an provisional measure on the case of embezzlement and laundering of the oil company’s money. Thus, the appeal of AFK Sistema was denied.

Currently, the proportion of AFK Systema in the ordinary shares of Bashneft makes up 86.7%, and the share of effective ownership in its capital - 78.8%.

The Ministry of Land and Property Relations of Bashkortostan today announced a civil claim for compensation of 209 billion rubles in the investigation of the criminal case against the former head of Bashneft, Ural Rakhimov, who is charged with the legalization of illegally obtained funds and embezzlement during the privatization of Bashneft.
