FAS: Nobody is guilty for the of growth of Russian gasoline prices

FAS won’t penalize oil companies for the sharp growth of gasoline prices in summer. Gazprom, Gazprom Neft and Bashneft were only given a warning. FAS believes, the growth of the prices was higher than inflation only in July and the reserves created by the companies will help to live through the period of autumn repairs of oil-refining plants without deficit. As a result, nobody was found guilty of the growth of gasoline prices.

FAS issued a warning to Gazprom, Gazprom Neft and Bashneft which haven’t fulfilled the order about selling of oil products at the exchange. It was recommended to Surgutneftegaz to sell fuel more “evenly”, deputy Head of FAS Anatoly Golomolzin claimed yesterday. Thus, the service decided not to penalize the oil companies seriously for sharp growth of gasoline prices in July when the wholesale prices increased by 30% per month, though Federal Statistics Service stated that the growth made up only 4.4%.
