SOCAR can participate in Kuban oil refinery construction nearby Novorossiysk, Russia

SOCAR negotiates about possible participation in the Kuban oil refinery construction near to Novorossiysk, Russia, the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, N. Aliyev says. Recently the chief of Rosneft I. Sechin negotiated with SOCAR in Baku but Mr. Aliyev does not possess the information about the results.

The point was discussed at the recent summit of the Near-Caspian states in Astrakhan as well. Preliminarily, they await investment of Azerbaijan into the project and supplies there of the Azeri oil exported in direction of Russia. The oil products produced will be sold via the Russian traders.

The chief of Rosneft I. Sechin visited Baku recently. They discussed joint realization of the projects in the sphere of oil extraction and refining in Russia and Azerbaijan.
