The prospects of the “Sakhalin - Japan” power bridge to be discussed in Tokyo.
Alexander Khoroshavin, the governor of the Sakhalin region, will promote a major “Russia-Japan” power bridge creation project at the international conference.
Prior to the large symposium the head of the region met ,Yevgeny Afanasiev, the Russian ambassador to Japan, and discussed the details of the project, arranging the export of the Russian energy into the Land of the Rising Sun.
Alexander Khoroshavin noted that currently the possibilities of export-oriented generation objects construction at the first stage of the project are being worked. During 2013 the regional government in association with JSC “Inter RAO” actively worked on this project. As the result the company provided a financial economic model of the project, selecting the sighting of the most prospective generation objects. Additionally following the Russian Federation Government request the regional government develops suggestions on the involvement of the current project into the list of government programs on the Far East's development. The governor is confident that the forthcoming forum is in a way a spur for the Japanese side to make a decision.
