Germany sells gas, bought from Russia, to the Ukraine

In 2015, Germany consumed 5% more gas than in 2014, however, at the same time, the import of "blue fuel" increased by 13%. And the most remarkable figure - German gas exports increased by 35% to over 30 billion cubic meters in 2015. Thus, Germany increasingly grows into a role of major gas hub in Europe.

In absolute terms, the gas consumption in Germany reached 80.5 billion cubic meters in the past year, and this despite the fact that 2015 was a rather warm year. Thus, the share of gas in power generation of the country increased to 21.1% from 20.4% in 2014.
