Siemens to help Rosneft modernize oil extraction

​Rosneft and Siemens AG have signed an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of development of shelf and continental deposits. The document was signed by the head of Rosneft, I. Sechin, and the chairman of Siemens AG, J. Kaiser.

The agreement presupposes the supply of technological decisions by Siemens AG for the hydrocarbons extraction projects as well as oil processing, transportation and shipbuilding. The parties plan to cooperate in the sphere of application of the energy saving technologies of oil extraction complexes and oil refineries.

The agreement also presupposes the participation of specialists of Siemens AG in the management over the energy distribution networks which will be used in oil extraction and processing. Siemens AG will also modernize the reservoir parks of Rosneft.

In the shipbuilding sphere the parties agree to preliminarily assess the potential of cooperation. Siemens is planned to help Rosneft found the “digital” shipyard conception and develop the projects of underwater energy systems.
