Tatneft moves in energy saving and resources efficiency

Today Tatarstani deposits are characterized by a high degree of proficiency and watering. Accordingly, the cost of oil extracting from the depths grows. Under these conditions, the preservation of the competitiveness of Tatneft is impossible without a well thought-out technology policy. The complicated oil production conditions prompted the company to seriously take up the energy-resource-saving.

The program following the program
The comprehensive program "Energy Efficient Economy" is implemented by Tatneft since 2000. The task is the reduction in consumption of fuel and energy resources over the entire oil production chain. Initial steps were made in the course of the first five-year energy conservation program. For example, the introduction of the automated system made it possible to establish the optimum control of power consumption in the extensive production.

The second phase of the corporate program was launched in 2006. By 2010, the company has taken measures to ensure the long-term and significant energy-saving effect, but required a large investment. The most significant result was the decrease in the energy consumption per ton of oil.
