The German Chancellor Angela Merkel supported the proposal of the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk to create a European Energy Union, that would take over the functions of gas imports coordination and negotiating on new long-term contracts with "Gazprom". But "the Kommersant" interlocutors in the market continue to believe this project is unrealistic, and the discussions about it are political.

The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel generally supported the idea of creating a European Energy Union, but called to finalize the details. "The question is, how do we integrate European efforts in both the private and the public sectors in order to make it clear: our domestic market is not just a single market for goods, but also the domestic market for the common energy policy", - the Chancellor stated after the author of this initiative Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk talked.
