Rosneft has started geophysical prospecting in the Northern area of the Kara Sea

They have started the field stage of aero gravi-magnet prospecting in the Northern area of the Kara Sea, in the Central Arctic at the Northern-Kara license site. Rosneft’s partner in prospecting of the sites in the Kara Sea is ExxonMobil. Aero gravi-magnet survey is an effective method for prospecting of geological composition of the oil and gas productive basins. It’s performed at the threshold of the large seismic exploration. The advantage of the method is possible performing of the work above the ice cover without the use of the sea ships.

Rosneft executes the research in compliance of all demands of the nature protection law. It won’t cause any harm to the nature of the Arctic region. The work over the project is organized by Rosneft’s subsidiary RN-Shelf-Arctic Ltd.
