Court has postponed consideration of Rosneft’s appeal on the case pipeline access

​The 5th Arbitration Court of Appeal (Vladivostok) on Thursday postponed for June 25th the consideration of Rosneft’s appeal for the decision of the previous Arbitration Court which rejected Rosneft in the claim against the operator of Sakhalin-2 “Sakhalin Energy” (Gazprom holds 50% plus 1 share) on giving the access to the gas pipeline belonging to the project.

Besides Rosneft, its affiliate “RN-Astra” CJSC has also made a claim. Rosneft is a participant of the Sakhalin-1 project via RN-Astra (8.5%) and Sakhalinmorneftegas-Shelf CJSC (11.5%).

The claimant plans to use the pipeline for the transportation of up to 8 bln cubic m of gas a year from its deposits in the north of the peninsula to the LNG plant which Rosneft and its partners plan to construct in the south. Sakhalin Energy states of the absence of free capacities for the transportation of the claimant’s gas.
