Igor Shuvalov: Arguments that Russian economy shouldn’t be dependent on energy sources are empty talk

Russia must sell energy sources while there is a demand for them, basis of the economic power depends on this; at the same time, the budget shouldn’t depend on the price of oil and gas. This opinion was expressed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov at the meeting with members of the International Education Forum "Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy" in Tatarstan.

"All the arguments that the Russian economy shouldn’t depend on the supply of energy sources are empty talk. Whilst it gives you the opportunity to create the power of the economy – you must sell them. However, you shouldn’t depend on these revenues, planning the federal spending. The budget shouldn’t depend on sale of energy sources, "- said Shuvalov.
