Gazprom to buy 49% of Metaklei from Rosnano

Rosnano has agreed to sell 49% of the producer of corrosion-resistant coatings for pipes, Metaklei to the structure of Gazprom Gazprom Salavat StroyTEK. The amount of the transaction is 800 million rubles that is by 300 million rubles less than investment, made by Rosnano, but, according to sources of the Kommersant, the transaction can be called involuntary. Metaklei is faced with increasing competition, high receivables and a lack of working capital.

Rosnano’s Board of Directors has approved the sale of 49% of the company Metaklei to Gazprom Salavat StroyTEK (a part of Gazprom Salavat neftekhim). The structure of Gazprom offered to buy the company, which produces anti-corrosion coatings for the protection of large-diameter pipes, in June. Sources of the Kommersant, familiar with the details of the deal, reported that the market value of the package was estimated at 703 million rubles. The deal amounted to 800 million rubles, Rosnano reported. It is not specified when the deal is planned to be closed. The newspaper failed to get comments from Gazprom Salavat StroyTEK.
