AFK "Sistema" purchased the shares of "Bashneft" from the structures of Ural Rakhimov, the son of the former Bashkiria president, $ 500 million less than their real value, according to the Investigative Committee. Moreover, it opened a new criminal case on the legalization of the sale of the oil company's property and is going to test the role of AFK in this transaction.

On Wednesday the Moscow City Court considered the complaint of AFK "Sistema" on the arrest of 84% "Bashneft" shares, owned by AFK and its subsidiary, "Sistema-Invest". These shares were arrested in July as part of a criminal investigation against Rakhimov Jr., who is accused of embezzlement and money laundering in the sale of the Bashkir fuel and energy complex to AFK "Sistema". The judge upheld the arrest, extending the term of the investigation until October 28th, ITAR-TASS reported.
