Mechel has appealed the collection of 6.76 bln roubles on the claim of Sberbank

​The Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant (controlled by Mechel) has appealed the decision of the Court on the collection of 6.76 bln roubles from the enterprise and 4 its affiliates.

The appeal was filed to the Court of first instance on September 25th. The 9th Arbitration Court of Appeal will soon appoint the date of the hearing.

VTN and Mechel have previously reached an amicable agreement by the claim for 2.7 bln roubles.

Mechel’s total debt as of September 1st 2015 amounted to $6.313 bln.

59% of Mechel’s debts are denominated in dollars, 35% in roubles, 6% in euro. The stake of the state banks of Russia is 66%, foreign banks – 23%.
