Ecuador suggests Gazprom to found alliance with Petroamazonas

Ecuador suggests to Gazprom to found an alliance with the national oil and gas company Petroamazonas, Gazprom International reports. Last Friday the delegation of Ecuador headed by the Minister-Coordinator of the strategy sectors, the Vice Premier of the Government R. Poveda visited Gazprom International. The meeting was held during to planning of  the visit of the President of Ecuador R. Correa to Russia.

Mr. Poveda says that they share Gazprom’s strategy perspective of the work in Latin America and would like to see Gazprom International in Ecuador in a strategic alliance with Petroamazonas. He claims that Ecuador gradually changes its energy matrix. It continues development of the hydro power energy sector, and is going to pass from the use of the imported LNG to its own natural gas.
