Rosneft to negotiate on increase of its share in Italian Saras
The largest Russian oil company Rosneft is in talks to acquire a significant stake in the Italian refinery Saras, head of the Board of Banca Intesa (Russian subsidiary of the Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo) Antonio Fallico said in an interview with the RIA Novosti. According to him, Intesa is ready to take part in the financing of the transaction.
Rosneft and Intesa are long-standing partners, in particular the two are the largest shareholders of the Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli, said Fallico. "We, of course, are willing to support Rosneft’s investments in Italy," - he said on the margins of the Third Eurasian Forum in Verona, Italy.
"Rosneft has relationship not only with Pirelli, it already has a 20% stake in Saras. I know that currently negotiations on the acquisition of another significant package of the Saras’ shares are in the process, and again we are ready to support it,"- said Fallico.
