Lipetsk is one of few company towns that keep social stability

A meeting on the issues of the metallurgical industry's development and assistance to the inhabitants of company towns in the case of closure and restructuring of inefficient enterprises has taken place in the Russian Ministry of Economic Development’s office recently. The chiefs of such metallurgical companies, including the Exraz holding company, Mechel, Metalloinvest, ChTPZ, UC Rusal, Severstal, NLMK, MMK and other took part in it. NLMK was represented by its vice president for social issues Alexander Sokolov.

The representatives of the Russian metallurgical enterprises discussed problems that occurred in the sector in recent years. Thus, in November of 2013 the Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev noted the originality of unemployment in our country at one of meetings on the employment of population: such as the difficulty to get job in company towns that depend on township-forming enterprises.
