The criteria changes proposed by the Ministry of National Resources of the Russian Federation for assessing the hazards of waste may increase the costs of the mining companies on waste accommodation by 621 times, according to the NP "Russian Steel". The members of this partnership only will lose more than 60 billion roubles, and business in general - more than 1 trillion roubles per year, the NP estimated at. The changes in the criteria are "a significant blow" for the metallurgists and chemists, as the market recognizes. The discussion order of the Ministry of National Resources of the Russian Federation may be accepted in the summer.

The mining and metallurgic companies are concerned about the draft order of the Ministry of National Resources of the Russian Federation on the criteria for assessing the degree of hazard waste, public discussion of which was completed on May 15th. NP "Russian Steel", which unites the largest steelmakers, states that the project in its current form threatens the members of the partnership by increasing the costs for waste disposal by 621 times, or by an additional 60 billion roubles per year. Because of the new criteria for evaluating the waste of the fifth grade (the least dangerous) can be assigned to the fourth class with increased rates of charges for their accommodation from 0.4 to 248.4 roubles per ton.
