 The development of small deposits and the attraction of small oil companies will give new opportunities, the chairman of the State Duma Committee for Energy, the President of the Gas Union of Russia, P. Zavalny said.

Today we can see the worsening of quality of resource base of the oil and gas sector. The largest Russia’s hydrocarbons deposits, discovered in the Soviet times, face oil a fall in extraction. The stake of reserves in complicated, low-permeability reservoirs and high-viscosity oil is rising. In the gas sector the stake of scavenger reserves is growing. The stake of low-pressure and multi component  gas is rising.
