Rusal plans to increase alloys export for car manufacturers in 2011

UC RUSAL plans in 2011 to increase the export of primary casting aluminium alloys for car manufacturing industry by 33.3% to 240 thousand tons against the same period in 2010 (180 thousand tons), the aluminium company told Prime.
This volumes makes up about 24% of the total volume of the alloys export supplies of UC RUSAL, is said in the report. These alloys are produced at the Bogoslovsky, Bratsk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novokuznetsk, Nadvoitsk, Sayanogorsk and Ural aluminium plants. The main foreign sales markers are South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, the USA and countries of Europe.
The representatives of the companies Dong Hwa and Sungwoo, the 2 largest suppliers of car spare parts in Korea, visited the Siberian plants of UC RUSAL. Together with the representatives of the Korean companies the plants were visited by the representatives of Toyota Tsusho, a trade subdivision of Toyota group of companies and one of Rusal’s strategic partners in the Asian region. 
The representatives of Toyota Tsusho and Dong Hwa visited the Krasnoyarsk aluminium plant (KrAZ, in the structure of Rusal) to discuss the possible directions of cooperation, while the representatives of Toyota Tsusho and Sungwoo – the Irkutsk aluminium plant (IrkAZ, in the structure of Rusal). The current capacities of the enterprises and the potential of aluminium alloys production growth for cast car wheels were discussed. Rusal has long been cooperating with the Korean consumers; the demand for aluminum from their part is constantly growing due to the development of car manufacturing industry in the country on average by 10% annually within a few past years. 
A representative of Toyota Tsusho ,D. Honda, who visited the KrAz, said: I was surprised by the scale of production, quality of management over the processes and assortment of the produced goods. The car manufacturing industry of Japan consumes more than 1 mln tons of aluminium a year, Korea consumes the same volume, and the Krasnoyarsk plant only can cover the annual demand of this country.
