Half of investments in the Sakhalin region falls on oil and gas sector

Half of the investments in the Sakhalin region falls on the oil and gas sector, the Minister of Economic Development of Sakhalin Sergey Karpenko reported at the meeting of the regional government.

According to the official, in the first six months of 2014, the amount of the investments in fixed assets of the Sakhalin region amounted to about 75 billion rubles that is by 1% more than in the same period of the previous year. "So far, unfortunately, 50% of the investments are still generated by the oil and gas complex and other sphere of the mining industry, 35% - transport and communication, 7% - real estate transactionsm" - the Interfax cites Karenko.
