Ukrainian gas insufficiency: Kiev to decline all responsibility for winter energy crisis in Europe

At the end of August, the Ukraine dramatically increased the volume of gas pumping into the underground storages. If in July, the daily import from Russia was less than 50 million cubic meters, then in August the flow increased to 123.5 million cubic meters per day. However, specialists doubt that even these rates will enable it to accumulate the level of stocks, to ensure uninterrupted supplies to Europe in the winter, until October 15. Kiev doesn’t rule out that a possible gas crisis will actualize the long-forgotten issue on radical change of conditions of the gas transit through the Ukrainian territory, - the Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes.
