Threat of the confiscation of Bashneft

Bashneft, controlled by AFK Systema could be nationalized. The General Procurator’s Office applied with such a requirement to the Moscow Commercial Court. But, the confiscation requires a verdict on a criminal case on the theft of the oil company’s shares first, lawyers note.
The First Deputy General Prosecutor, Alexander Buksman filed a complaint to the Moscow Commercial Court for the recovery of 71.76% of the Bashneft’s voting shares, owned by AFK Sistema, and the other 9.91%, controlled by Sistema-Invest, in favor of the state. The lawsuit was filed in the interest of the Federal Property Agency, the court’s web-site says.
