Polyus Gold plans to significantly increase production in the Irkutsk region

Polyus Gold may extend the processing capacity of the Verninsky GOK from the current 2.2 million tons to 3.5 million tons of ore per year, senior vice president for finance and strategy of Polyus Gold Mikhail Stiskin told reporters. At the same time, the company considers as an option to expand the existing gold recovery plant, as the construction of a new one. The final decision will be taken in 2016, Stiskin specified.

The project will be implemented within the framework of a new operating strategy, announced in March 2015, which provides the growth of the total gold production at assets of Polyus by about 30% in the medium term.
