Atyrau refinery increases petrol production concurrently with its upgrade

In 2014, the Atyrau refinery will reprocess 4.920 million tons of oil that is by 120 thousand tons more than it was planned, zakon.kz reports.

"The increase in the volume of oil that we were instructed to process is connected with the shortage of petrol, which began on the domestic market in August - September this year. At the same time, the plant’s management in advance decided to carry out overhaul of technological installations on a reduced schedule, as well as the submission of (jointly with KazMunaiGaz - Processing and Marketing) of increase of oil supply for processing to the Energy Ministry of Kazakhstan,"- general director of Atyrau Refinery, Kairat Urazbaev says.
