The start of cathode copper production is planned for Q4 2015.
KAZ Minerals group, the largest copper producer in Kazakhstan, expects the production of first copper at the Aktogay deposit to start in 2015.
The extraction of oxidized ore goes on at the Aktogay deposit. As of the end of September, 2.13 mln tons of ore with copper content of 0.37% were unloaded at the first two heap leaching panels out of 9. On September 26th ore watering with acid started. Currently the construction of the objects for processing of oxidized ore by liquid extraction and electrolysis goes on.
