Interview of Deputy Vice President of Transneft Igor Katsal with Business FM on change of cargo traffic in the company's oil pipeline system

The Deputy Vice President of Transneft, Igor Katsal an in interview with the radio station Business FM has told about the plans to redirect a part of sour crude in the company's oil pipeline system from the west to the east.

Answering ther questions of the station, Igor Katsal said that in 2014-2015 Transneft will implement a program on the reorientation of oil from west to east. He explained that it is a question of about four million tons of sour crude oil, which will be redirected from the western section of the company's main oil pipeline system to the Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean system. This measure is taken to improve the quality of raw materials in the western sector, where traditionally oil with high sulfur content is localized.

Transneft, which transports about 20 grades of oil, forms a raw material mixture in accordance with "Scheme of normal (technological) cargo traffic", which, in turn, is approved by the Russian Ministry of Energy. Producers supply oil of different qualitative composition to the Transneft's system, in which it is compounded by methods of as managed, as unmanaged mixing
