Miller: new center for gas recovery in Yamal and Arctic will virtually become the second Gazprom

The establishment of the new center for gas recovery in Yamal and in the Arctic ledge practically means the creation of the second Gazprom, A.Miller thinks.

In practice, we are creating another Gazprom and I am not saying it figuratively, Miller said. The creation of the new center in Yamal and in the Arctic ledge compares from the point of view of the size with the development of the Soviet giant deposits – Urengoiskiy, Medveziy, Yamburgskiy…The scale and, importantly, the significance of our construction works in the East of Russia bring the memory of the times when the gas pipeline Urengoi-Pomary-Uzgorod was built. Now completely new provinces are being mastered and completely new large markets are formed, Miller said.

He emphasized that the volume and direction of Gazprom investments are strongly connected with gas supplies in the future. Our construction works in the development and transportation spheres are synchronized with each other by capacities and deadlines. And the total volume of investment which will exceed one trillion roubles this year is absolutely reasonable. The investment is predetermined by existing obligations to supply in Russia and to export, by the geography of reserves accessible for development and by reconstruction and modernization of the part of infrastructure which was created in the Soviet times.
