Russian government develops strategy for metallurgists

Steel companies need state support, as the updating of the steel sector is necessary.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed “Russian non-ferrous metallurgy sector development strategy for 2014-2030.”

It considers state loan guarantees and participation in investment projects among other things. The Ministry of Industry finds it necessary to grant guarantees to the companies of non-ferrous metallurgy on the credits from foreign companies (for the refinancing of debts), support investment projects (with the participation of Vnesheconombank) and help the enterprises with the restructuring of inefficient capacities. Besides, the question is also about the creation of a reserves fund of non-ferrous metals.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade also suggests to guarantee export support of a number of non-ferrous metal and protect the domestic market from the dumping of imports.
