India thinks of investment into Sakhalin-2 and Sakhalin-3

​The chairman of the Sakhalin region, V. Scherbinina, and extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador of India in Russia, S. Pankadj, discussed the perspectives of cooperation in the economic sphere.

India is among the main external partners of the Sakhalin region due to the participation of ONGC Videsh Limited with a 20% stake in Sakhalin-1. S. Pankadj said that India seriously considers an opportunity of investment into the Sakhalin-2 and Sakhalin-3. He was also interested in the participation of Indian companies in the development of other sectors of regional economy and organization of supply of coal and seafood from Sakhalin to India.

The Ambassador of India suggested the Sakhalin region participating in the program of exchange of specialists in various spheres of activity etc.
