Rosneft wants the government's stake in NCSP

The President of Rosneft Igor Sechin wants to obtain 20% of NCSP (Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, controlled by Transneft and the Summa Group). He asked Vladimir Putin to instruct the government to sell the state 20% of the port to the oil company. The government is against it and wants to put the stake up for tender. If Rosneft succeeds, NCSP will obtain three key shareholders with contradictory interests and numerous mutual conflicts.

The President of Rosneft, Igor Sechin proposed Vladimir Putin to instruct the government to “initiate the privatization of 20% of NCSP by means of its target selling to the oil company”, is said in the letter of Sechin of October 10th. The President asked the senior vice-PM Igor Shuvalov to “consider and report”. Yesterday the representatives of Shuvalov and Rosneft were not available for comment.
