The EU to spend EUR 647 mln to reduce dependence from the Russian gas

The EU will spend EUR 647 million to increase the energy security of the member states, Ukrinform writes.

“Today, the member countries have agreed the granting of 647 million Euro for the support of the top-priority infrastructure projects. The great majority of assistance will got to gas projects in the Baltic states, Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. The projects approved are aimed at an increase of the energy safety of Europe and the providing of access of isolated member countries to the energy network of the EU,” they said in the EU Commission.
