Import fee for LPG might be reduced or cancelled soon – deputy Minister of Finance

The Government might decide to reconsider the order of collection of the additional import fee which also refers to LNG soon, the deputy Minister of Finance, E. Makeeva, said.

“It is necessary to reconsider the additional import fee as, on the one hand, it doesn’t allow to finance the budget (doesn’t meet the expectations), and on the other hand, it causes a negative reaction from the part of business”, she said.

According to her, the feel is likely to be reduced and the respective decision can be made soon.

In February the Cabinet of Ministers approved the decision on the introduction of a 5-10% additional import feel. LPG was included in the previously approved by the Supreme Rada list of goods imported to the Ukraine at a 5% rate and charged the additional fee.

The participants of the market consider such a norm to be discriminatory and stood for the inclusion of LPG to the vitally important import along with the oil products on which the tax is not imposed.
