Oil extraction at Vankor deposit to fall insignificantly

Oil extraction at the Vankor deposit of Rosneft will start to fall next year, a company’s representative said.

“Oil extraction at the Vankor deposit this year will stay at the level of 22 mln tons, in 2016 might insignificantly fall”, chief engineer of Vankorneft, A. Cherepanov, said.

He thinks that the extraction at Vankor after 2015 will start to fall in conformity with the natural cycle of its development.

“… The schedule of development of any deposit presupposes the growth, then flat extraction, and then a fall”, he added.

Rosneft reduced oil extraction in 2014 to 205 mln from 207 mln tons in 2013.
