Russian pipe industry drives import substitution

The Russian pipe companies have demonstrated successful solutions that allow them to ensure the development,production and transportation of hydrocarbons using the domestic iron and steel products. There are examples of this in the Urals.
Import substitution is one of the most debated issues in many sectors of the economy. All of the largest projects of pipelines,Russian projects, as well as international ones, have shown: the pipe industry can substitute for imports and offer interesting solutions. And not only giant plants. One of the examples of small, but unique production in our region is the Chelyabinsk plant, Trubodetal. The enterprise became the sole manufacturer of pipeline fittings, whose products were certified by Gazprom for the construction of one of the most important facilities of South Stream - the compressor station of Russkaya. Igor Voronin, the director of Division of pipeline fittings and valves of one of the leaders of the pipe industry - United Metallurgical Company (OMK), which includes the plant Trubodetal, tells how to build an effective strategy on a competitive market:
