Belarus hopes to extract about 1.5 mln tons of oil a year by 2025

In the coming 5 years $8.2 bln will be invested in the development of extraction and processing of oil and chemicals industry. By 2025 Belarus hopes to save the production of its own oil at the level of about 1.5 mln tons a year, is said in the conception of development of Belneftechem until 2025 which was approved by the Board of Directors.

Polymir resumes the production of LDPE after fire.

By Friday, May 6, the Polymir plant, part of LLC "Naftan", reopened the shop number 105, which was stopped due to ethylene release on April 27, a source in the company told MRC.
According to customers of the enterprise, today work shop №105 (the second stage of the production of high-density polyethylene (LDPE) was completely restored after forced stop due to a fire on April 27. Resuming operation of the second stage was originally scheduled for the day after the fire, but technical problems delayed production start-up.

Over Br868 bln invested into modernization of oil refinery plants in Belarus in January-February

​The investment into the oil processing in January-February 2016 made up over Br868 bln, Belneftechem reports.
In H1 2016 the units of production of high-octane components of petrol and utilization of gas containing hydrogen sulfide will be put into operation at the Mozyr oil refinery plant as well as the construction of a C4 butane fraction adsorption cleaning unit will be completed.
Naftan OJSC plans to complete the construction of a primary oil processing unit with the capacity of 6 mln tons a year, units on hydrogen and sulfur production, and complete the reconstruction of a water cleaning unit #2.
Large –scale projects of implementation of a delayed coking oil residue unit at Naftan and a unit of hyrocraking of heavy oil residue at the Mozyr oil refinery are at the active stage. They are planned to be realized until 2020. As a result of the oil processing depth will reach 88-89%, output of light oil products – 63%. The production of light oil products meeting the European standard will increase and the total volume of saleable grease oil will fall. Naftan OJSC will produce new products: oil coke and elementary sulfur.

“Belneftekhim” prepares sectoral tariff agreement for 2016-2018

There was created trilateral commission in accordance with the decision of the sectoral council for social and labor issues to carry out collective bargaining on the preparation of the Tariff agreement for 2016-2018.
The committee comprises 5 representatives from the Labour organization, chaired by S.Klochok (Belkhimprofsoyuz); from the employers, represented by the Republican Association of Undertakings of Industry “BelAPP”, headed by the deputy chairman V.Timofeev; from the concern “Belneftekhim”, headed by the deputy chairman of the concern V.Milevich.

Negotiations between Belarus and Russia on conditions of oil supply in 2016 planned to be over in December –Belneftechem

The negotiations of Belneftechem and Belarus oil processing plants with the Russian oil companies that ship oil to the oil refinery plants of Belarus on the conditions of supplies for 2016 are planned to be over in December, the press service of Belneftechem said.
The goal of the working negotiations is the optimization of  cooperation of the parties and workout of mutually beneficial conditions of cooperation in the oil processing sphere.
Belneftechem said that in 2015 there were a number of events in the international political and economic sectors that directly influence on the environment in the oil market as a result of which the oil prices went down.
Nevertheless due to the tax maneuver introduced by Russia the oil price rose shipped from Russia to Belarus. Annually the quality of oil is worsening that demands additional expenditure on its processing to produce oil products of European quality.
According to Belneftechem, in the past years the Belarus oil refineries held a serious technological modernization.

"Belneftekhim" wants a new discount from Russian oil producers.
Belarus offers Russia's oil companies to revise the price formula for the oil supplied into the country. According to "the Kommersant", "Belneftekhim" insists on an additional discount of $ 5 per ton, but suppliers do not agree to this. According to experts, the Belarusians are trying to take advantage of the unfavorable situation in the oil market, but there are no real alternatives to supplies from the Russian Federation.
