The shut down of the Nord Stream is prolonged for a day – till December 16th

The temporary shut down of gas supply by the Nord Stream gas pipeline due to the technical maintenance of the connecting gas pipeline in Russia will be prolonged untill December 16th, the operator of the Nord Stream project reports. It was initially planned to complete the works on December 15th but by the request of Gazprom the period of holding the works was prolonged untill December 16th, the report says. Read more »

Gas deliveries to Germany via Nord Stream ares expected at the end of October – beginning of November

Gas deliveries to Germany via Nord Stream are expected at the end of October – beginning of November, a director of Nord Stream AG, Henning Kothe reported on Tuesday.

“In September the pipeline was filled with technological gas. We expect to reach 70 bar pressure needed to deliver gas to Germany at the end of October – beginning of November”, he said.

The President of United Metallurgical Company CJSC, which supplied the project with pipes, Vladimir Markin said, this would most likely happen on November 8th. Read more »

Fitch: Nord Stream to deprive gas operators of the Ukraine and Slovakia of 20% revenue from transit

Fitch expects the launch of the 1st branch of the gas pipeline Nord Stream to lead to the fall of the transit revenue of the gas operators in the Ukraine and Slovakia – Naftogas and Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel (SPP) – by 20% in 2012, the agency reports.
The filling of the Nord Stream pipeline with process gas started on Tuesday at the compressor station “Portovaya”.

Nord Stream gas pipeline is connected to the OPAL in Germany

The last seam finally interconnects the gas pipeline Nord Stream from Siberia and the interconnecting European  gas pipeline  OPAL, the final weld was made on the receiving terminal in the coastal Lubmin town (Germany), German Wintershall reported.

D. Medvedev has suggested to Germany expanding Nord Stream

Today President Medvedev and the Chancellor of Germany, A. Merkel will hold  intergovernmental consultations in Hanover. A source of Kommersant has learnt one of the main issues will be the the possibility of the construction of a 3rd branch of Nord Stream from Russia to Germany via the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Russian Prime Minister V.Putin does not exclude possible construction of the third stage (a third line)of the gas pipeline Nord Stream, RIA Novosti reported.

Gazprom is sure about a settlement in the dispute on the branch from Nord Stream

Gazprom plans to settle the dispute on the construction of the gas pipeline-branch Nel from Nord Stream on the territory of Germany and is sure that it won’t influence on the period of the project’s realization, the deputy CEO of Gazprom, CEO of Gazprom export A. Medvedev said in the interview to channel Vesti-24.
A few km of the pipeline are left and I’m sure that it will be settled and won’t influence the period of construction, he said.
