“SiGMA” has discovered diamonds in Ozernovsky ores in Kamchatka

The ore of the Ozernovsky field (Kamchatka region) might contain up to 10 mln karats of diamonds, Siberian mining and metallurgical alliance (SiGMA) reports. It develops the Ozernovsky gold ore deposit.

A close connection of diamonds and wolfram (is forecast at the depth of 0.5-0.8 km) determines the resources assessment of P1+P2+P3 categories of diamond contents at the Ozernovsky ore field. It will be determined by one or a few small and medium deposits with the total resources of about 1-10 mln karats within the border of the Ozernovsky ore field, chief geologist A. Demin says.

In the process of geological exploration rich silver ore with silver content of up to 11.6 kg/ton have been discovered, unique concentrations of wolfram have been found.

The diamonds from the Ozernovsky field are represented by 0.6-0.7 mm crystals. The closest analogues of Ozernovsky field diamonds can be considered Tolbachinsky diamonds, recently discovered at the lava of the Ploskhikh Tolbachin volcano.
