Petrol output in Russia to rise by a third to 51 mln tons by 2020

​The production of petrol in Russia will rise by a third by 2020 against 2014 (38.3 mln tons) to 51 mln tons, deputy CEO of the Central Dispatch Management of the Fuel and Energy sector, E. Syrovoy, said.

He said that this plant might be reconsidered if oil companies stand for the reconsideration of the 4–party meetings on the modernization of oil refinery plants.

The head of the quality management and products safety department of Rosneft said that the domestic market will hardly be able to absorb the volume of 51 mln tons. “This volume is likely to be corrected”, he said.

The head of the department of system of analysis and forecast of Gazprom Neft, A. Mitnik, said that this volume might be higher but the demand for petrol has fallen down. “We really forecast the fall of demand for 2015. We will have more petrol in 2020-2025 than can be consumed in Russia”, he said. The volumes will be exported to the CIS, Europe, North America. “But the CIS will not take that much – 10 mln is much for it, Kazakhstan can receive 0.5-1 mln tons by 2020. So it will need to be sent to Europe”, he thinks.
