Fate of oil products pipeline to Moscow region may be decided in Nizhny Novgorod today

The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will hold a meeting on the development of oil processing industry in Nizhny Novgorod today. As the RIA Novosti reports, it is expected that a decision on the construction of the oil products pipeline from the company Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez (NORSI, Kstovo) to the Moscow region will be made. In addition, launch of a catalytic cracking unit at the Nizhny Novgorod plant of Lukoil is planned.

During the visit of the Prime Minister, Lukoil intends to launch the second catalytic cracking complex at the Nizhny Novgorod refinery with capacity of more than 1.1 million tons of Euro 5 gasoline per year, which will compensate for the shortfall in Moscow and the Moscow region and to prevent the shortage of gasoline in the central regions of Russia.
