Several new mini-refineries will be launched in Kazakhstan in 2014-2015, despite the fact that the already existing small enterprises face a shortage of raw materials.
Private local companies are currently building four refineries with the capacity from 300 to 800 thousand tons per year in the Aktobe, Shymkent and Almaty regions, as well as in the west of the country.
Earlier, Kazakhstan lifted restrictions on the import of oil products from Russia. In the first six months, Kazakhstan processed 7.2 million tons of oil, the plan fulfillment made up 100.5% as compared with the previous year.
