Evraz to start coking coal production at the Mezhegeisky deposit in one of these days

The Russian mining and smelting company Evraz is about to start the production of the first coking coal production at the Mezhegeisky deposit, part of Ulug-Khemsky coal basin in the republic of Tyva in September or October this year. It is the start of production of the planned 1.5 million tons of coal mining a year, from which there will be produced 1.3 million tons of beneficiated coal concentrate. In order to be sure of the coal quality, there will be carried out a trial of coke making in the coke blast furnace of the Western-Siberian Iron and Steel works (ZSMK). The approximate coal production cost at the deposit will make up about $90 per a ton, while the prime cost of coal beneficiation – about $30 per a ton.
