According to CEO "VNIPIneft" Vladimir Kapustin, ban of the additive is a radically wrong path, which is based on no real reasons, but the fight for market share. He stated that when MMA was used properly petrol with this additive was not more harmful than any other.
This was confirmed by the head of SPMMA of "Volzhsky Orgsintez" Sergey Mayer: "We tested monomethylaniline for use in petrol of 5th grade and received positive results. However, everything depends on the position of the RF Ministry of Energy, which is in no hurry to discuss question of lifting the ban on MMA with the market players".
