The mine "Erunakovskaja-8" for the first time in Russia was put into pilot operation innovative technology advance degassing of coal seams using the plasma-pulse action. This was reported in the regional center of corporate relations "Siberia" of company "Evraz".
"Technology allows to extract methane from coal seams for several years before mining. In degasification wells, of which the pre-pumped water, there placed a special device – streamer, forming an electric discharge capacity of 102 MW. Under the influence of electric current pulses in the coal seam cracks through which the methane comes to the surface ", - the company said.
